Storefront
self-serve sign-up in the merchant portal
DoorDash Storefront allows merchants to easily set up their own first party channel using DoorDash technology.
Project timeline: Jan 2021 to Sept 2021
The product
Context
DoorDash Storefront allows merchants to easily set up their own first party channel using DoorDash technology. As of today, merchants need to go through a manual sales and setup process to have the product, which has limited the range of merchants that have access to the product to mid-market and above segments.
As part of DoorDash Covid relief measures to merchants, we want to provide Storefront for free (except for small payment commission) until the end of the year. In order to be able to onboard those vast number of merchants we will have a form in Merchant Portal that merchant can setup
The problem
Merchants need to contact support to set up a store which takes up to 3-5 days & it is time-consuming. Merchants need an easy solution for setting up their stores.
The goal
Our goal is to make setting up your store as easy as possible; we want to make sure that merchants can be successful with our platform, so we've created a streamlined process for merchants to use.
Merchants will be able to set up an account within 10-15 minutes of filling out the form on our website, and then merchants can use our integrated features to create your store in no time at all! You'll be able to upload products, set up shipping options, and more—all with just one click!
We hope merchant enjoy using our platform as much as we enjoy building it for merchants!

Solution approaches
1. Introduction to Storefront:
Welcome to Storefront! Before we dive in, here's a brief overview of what our program offers. For more details, you can visit our external landing page to learn more.

2. Customising Your Storefront:
Let's get started by personalizing your storefront. Choose one of the six available color themes.
Your marketplace logo will be displayed on the page.

3. Agreement and Fee Structure:
Take a moment to review the fee structure:
Commission: 2.9% per order + $0.30 per order.
Setup and monthly fees are waived.
All marketplace store features are enabled. You can also access a PDF version of the terms and conditions, similar to the self-sign-up process on the marketplace.

4. Activation of Your Store:
Congratulations, your store is now activated!
You can see a list of stores and their respective links.

5. Phase 1 - Subdomain Link:
Your unique subdomain link (e.g., businessname.order.online) is now active.
